ROSIE ROMERO BIOGRAPHY

Rosie has established herself as a leading member of a Nu-Breed of artists, creating waves from her Manchester base in both her DJ and production guises. Honing her trade as a DJ at the legendary ‘Sankeys’ Rosie now plys her DJ trade throughout the UK and with increasing regularity taking her sound to the international marketplace; and playing in over 25 countries, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Dubai, Ibiza, Italy, Russia, Egypt, Slovakia, Siberia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Poland and Bahrain to name a few of the many. Rosie has a residency at the Ministry of Sound Egypt and Space Club, Warsaw Poland. As we move further into 2010 we are set to witness the epic uprising of the Rosie Romero brand. Across her DJ performances, studio productions and combined aural/visual delight, Rosie Romero is fast becoming one of the scenes leading artists.

The natural progression from Rosie’s DJ success took her from the booth to the studio, receiving positive support from the likes of John Dahlback, Roger Sanchez, Zoo Brazil, Sandy Rivera, Dave Seaman, Nic Fancuilli, Richard Dinsdale, Kim Fai on Rosie’s remix of Zoo Brazils track ‘There Is Hope – Magik Musik. Rosie’s passion for making music has been present from a young age. Her first love of classical composition saw her develop her piano playing skills, making Grade 6 by the time she hit high school. It was when Zoo Brazil asked Rosie to remix his track ‘You Can Have It All’ for Tiesto’s label Magik Muzik that Rosie’s producer status moved up a gear. Rosie stepped up to the challenge and delivered a stunning ‘Orb Remix’, which received acclaim even pre full release! Zoo Brazil was so impressed with the track he has requested Rosie remix a gem from his new album, ‘Please Don’t Panic’, also on Magik Muzik. Blackhole Recordings were so impressed with Rosie’s track GURU they signed it immediately which went to the top of the label charts. Blackhole have snapped up Rosie’s follow up track ‘Afrodrum’ that she has done with studio partner Kyfu, which will be released shortly. Rosie’s has made her debut as a vocalist, performing her own track ‘GURU’ at the legendary Pacha/Pukka Up event in London, in which she has produced and recorded the vocals in the track herself - showing yet another dimension as an excessively talented artist. Lance Blaise owner of Teggno Records has also recognized the talents of the Romero sound and asked for a remix on his new album. Pretty Twisted ‘Deep Pete’ Hauswerks & Rosie Romero Collaborations released on the huge 303 Lovers label, two awesome tracks named ‘Mambana’ and ‘Gankoji’, which received support by some of the scenes major players. It has only benefited Rosie being a recording artist with leading labels Blackhole, 303 Lovers, Omnis Recordings, Manchester Underground Music and the heavily supported Mad Hatter Recordings has ensured a wider reach and audience for the new material. Rosie is now collaborating with the likes of Sandy Rivera, Jorgensen, Jay Kay and Juan Kidd. The success of the original tracks ensured a demand for remix requests with Zoo Brazil, Spektre, Lance Blaise, Paul Thomas, Kevin Andrews (Hoxton Whores) & Sonny Wharton being the first artists to receive the Romero touch. The last 12 months for Sonny Wharton have been nothing short of
phenomenal! Huge releases on Size, Toolroom, Spinnin’ and Skint have all
received heavy support from the likes of Pete Tong, Steve Angello, Mark
Knight and Roger Sanchez whilst his new record label Whartone continues to
dominate the download charts.

As a DJ Sonny shot to fame by winning a DJ Mag mix-tape competition for
Renaissance leading to sets at Amnesia, a weekly residency at Manumission
and Mixmag announcing Sonny as one of their original “Future Heroes”
alongside Nic Fanciulli, and Gareth Emery.

Over the last few years Sonny’s racked up slots for the who’s who of club
land including sell-out shows at Space, Pacha and Ministry Of Sound. He’s
held a monthly residency in Barcelona, rocked the likes of Global
Gathering, Wickerman and Isle Of Wight Festivals and played to over 1
million people at The Berlin Love Parade. In addition to this Sonny has
done no less than 3 guest mixes for Radio 1 as well as countless live
interviews and has featured on both MTV and Channel 5’s ‘The Gadget Show’.

Renown for his technical abilities both in the studio and DJ booth, Sonny
was recently invited by industry leaders Ortofon and Ecler to become UK
Ambassador for their brands, showcasing just what their technology is
capable of in the right pair of hands. He regularly appears for them at
international trade shows and features prominently in their advertising
campaigns both in press and on screen.

With Toolroom having already knighted Sonny “a certified member of the
house music elite”, the launch of his own ‘Sound Of Whartone’ events in

JOOF Editions, the brainchild of John 00 Fleming, has created an event
which re-focuses the night on the musical experience to combat what he
says is, “his frustration at the current commercialised state of dance
music culture.”

“It’s apparent the scene needs to split into two again; to let the current
road of commercialism take its course while also allowing for the more
specialist events/DJ/acts room to breathe.”

Not being able to sit back and watch the collapse of an industry he is so
passionate about John decided to take action.

“J00F Editions is an event which lives to return the musical journey to
the people; in events devoid of props, pyrotechnics and faux VIP’s,
instead returning to a world where a DJ can musically breathe with
extended sets and creative sounds,” he said.

“In what’s become an era of celebrity guest DJ culture, true music, its
fans and new talent have been disconnected. J00F Editions lives to
reconnect it and to re-ignite what drew clubbers in the very beginning.”

Starting in his hometown of Brighton, UK, J00F Editions will tour world
wide with John 00 Fleming himself programming the entire night.

Other destinations so far include: San Francisco (USA), Manila
(Philippines), Singapore and Mumbai (India).

J00F Editions will technically recreate the same essence delivered in
John’s much lauded recent BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.

J00F Editions will also introduce new talent, handpicked by
John, to reinforce the event on the music, the night, and the journey.

These three elements will infuse into every venues setup, to
synergistically match with John’s final artistic approval.

Growing up in Russia and Germany, Alex Einz was exposed to many
sub-genres of Electronica from an early age, finding inspiration in
the sounds of 808 State, Juno Reactor, Plastikman and Leftfield,
amongst others. Later in Israel his regular DJ spot on the legendary
pirate radio station Periscope FM led to a … See Morecollaboration
with then local techno DJ Ido Govrin and together they established the
12 Inch Junkies record shop in downtown Jerusalem. Later they went on
to form the House duo Decoit’e and got signed to Chicago based record
label Bumpin City. After moving to Asia he became heavily involved in
the Tokyo club scene with his clubnight, Phonika (with Groove Patrol &
Mark Oxley), which steadily grows to be a prime event in Tokyo. As a
producer Alex has also released on Underground Lessons and KSR.
Alex Einz has also performed guest slots at R-R-R, Volar HK,
Konspiracy records ,Tres Vibes, Gelmannika,IN:Flame,Real
Grooves,Redbox,B Legends and many other events at top Japanese clubs
such as Ageha,Womb,Unit,Air ,Asia and Warehouse702 supporting artists

Alex also runs Mono Basics Imprint which is a new electronic dance

but we don’t really limit ourselves and try to diversify our
releases.”
